Webmaster Tips

Writing Articles & Relevant Backlinks
First of all We wish you all the best for the 2007 year!

Let's talk about article submission in order to get quality backlinks. As you must already know, the quality of your backlinks is very important for your site to rank well on search engines.
Articles directories since 2005 are getting more and more submission requests as an article can bring a good position for a link back to a website. Time has changed and it is no use submitting the same article to a wide range of directories.

Now comes the tip:
- write an unique article and write no more than 10 versions which are at least 25% different from your original article,
- submit your versions to 10 articles directories,
- change directories when you write another article (another set of 10 articles directories - you may however keep 2 or 3 similar ones. This way you get more inbound links from different addresses),
- Make sure your articles don't get typos and are making sense,
- take it easy and concentrate on some other way to promote your site, for instance improve your site itself instead of writing hundreds of non relevant articles.

To get you on the right track, I give you a bunch of articles directories:

Folksonomies' Benefit
2006 has been the year of the rise of folksonomies and many websites' owners follow the trend by transforming their web solutions to meet the successful features of social networking sites.

Everyone share bookmarks and it leads to a new era of search engines based on popularity and updates. All these web sites have a similar layout and a plastic design; the main idea is interesting and once webmasters notice the impact these networks can have on their site, they try to focus on getting traffic from these new sources.

Have you ever seen these buttons on different websites and blogs: Add to My Yahoo! Subscribe in NewsGator Online Add to My AOL Add to Google Add to my msn Add to Netvibes page flakes

As an SEO expert you know that links leading to a website can enhance its ranking on search engines. You will likely realize how high the rank can be if you receive billions of links back to your site! That's what is making these networks so popular as every webmaster playing this game integrate a button or/and a link toward these sites hoping they can get some relevant traffic out of it.

The Tip:
Study these sites: Digg, Delicious, Spurl, Stumbleupon...; build your RSS feed (if you don't have any yet) to promote on sites such as Technorati (this way you have as much chances as blogs do) then write articles or/and add pages to your site and add the buttons (no need to put them all though) down each article or/and page to provide a way for your visitors to bookmark your site/article or/and vote on it. The more votes/bookmarks you get the more popular your site will be.
By analysing what work best on these networks you can have more success with your articles. For instance talk about the Web 2.0 rather than link exchange.
